I'd like to point out that Mary Robinette Kowal has a new story up over at Apex Online: "Scenting the Dark". I had a chance to read it a few months ago in draft stage and it was really good then. I imagine it's even better now!
I never really considered how smell can impact a story or how it can be important (outside of the novel Perfume, that is), but it works well here.
