it ain't zombies

5:30 AM - This morning is supposed to begin what I thought was a fun little exercise. Write as if you are facing a zombie uprising. Fun, right? Yeah, that's what I thought. It seemed like a good idea to me, a fun thing to do and a way to exercise some creativity. That's what I thought.

What happens when I turn on the radio this morning? I flip on MPR and there is breaking news. The Mall of America is being cordoned off by the police and nobody is being let in or out. At first I figured this was just some sort of joke, that the reporter on MPR is in on the joke and is doing her version of the zombie uprising. But, that doesn't make sense. I think that would be irresponsible and she would lose her job, and rightfully so.

I'm tired.

I checked some traffic maps online and the Highway 77 exits on 494 (east and west) have been closed and other news outlets are reporting the same thing. So, assuming that there isn't a mass hallucination, something bad is going on in East Bloomington. I can only imagine what it would be to close down some roads and block off the Mall of America. That's a major undertaking.

You know, they're having these zombie walk things all over the country. I think it's a marketing campaign for something- I just hope the actors are getting paid. We're non-equity here in Austin, TX. Anyway, don't worry about it- it's probably just a big stunt for some stupid movie.

The funny thing is that everyone is talking about this whole zombie thing that happened on the 13th. But like the person before me mentioned, it can be just advertisement for something. But blocking off a mall & major roads are probably not neccessary... Maybe if there were celebrity zombies like Michael Jackon or Paris Hilton, it might... just MIGHT be worth it :) Have you seen some of the celeb zombie trading cards on www.hollywoodzombies.com? they're hilaroius!
